Setup Guide

Set up your GIZMO.

Follow these seven simple steps to get your GIZMO litter box up and running. Questions? We're here to help.

  1. Position GIZMO on a flat surface in a quiet spot
    1

    Choose a Spot

Position the litter box on a flat surface in a quiet spot, away from high-traffic areas where your cat might be startled.

  2. Sprinkle pine wood pellets into the bottom bin
    2

Add Pellets to the Bottom Bin

Sprinkle 1–2 handfuls of pine wood pellets into the bottom bin. This prevents urine from pooling while sawdust filters through after a fresh change.

  3. Place sieve on bottom bin and fill with pellets
    3

    Fill the Sieve

Place the sieve onto the bottom bin and fill it with about 2 cm (0.8") of pine wood pellets. Avoid overfilling — excess pellets accelerate soiling and shorten longevity.

  4. Place the base over the bottom layers
    4

    Place the Base

Set the base over the two bottom layers. For a new cat, start without the flap and cover so your cat can get comfortable in an open, welcoming space.

  5. Insert a roll of poop bags into the scoop
    5

    Load the Poop Bags

Open the back of the scoop and insert a roll of poop bags. Thread one bag through the front opening while it stays attached to the roll — always ready to use.

  6. Hang the scoop on the scoop ledge of the base
    6

    Hang the Scoop

Hang the scoop on the scoop ledge on the side of the base — inside or outside — wherever it's most convenient for you.

  7. Place the lid on the base for a closed litter box
    7

    Add the Lid (Optional)

Place the lid on the base for a closed litter box. The lid also doubles as a sieve holder while cleaning.

Pro tip

When cleaning, use the lid as a sieve holder — rest the sieve on the lid while you empty and refresh the bottom bin.
